GDC Kastigarh hosts voter awareness, pledge drive under SVEEP

DODA: Government Dy SP Aman Thakur Memorial Degree College Kastigarh hosted a two-day voter awareness programme aimed at fostering civic engagement and encouraging responsible voting among students.

On the first day, an awareness lecture was delivered by Prof. Sat Pal, the Nodal Officer for SVEEP, who emphasized the importance of voter participation. He discussed the critical role of each citizen in shaping the nation's future, the impact of informed voting on national policies, and the significance of civic duties beyond just casting a vote.

The second day featured a voter pledge drive, encouraging participants to commit to their civic responsibilities and pledge to vote in the upcoming legislative assembly elections. Prof. Koshal Kumar Mangotra, Principal of the college, highlighted the institution's commitment to promoting democratic values and ensuring that students understand the power of their vote.

The event saw active participation from students, faculty members and non-teaching staff, reflecting the college's dedication to fostering active and informed citizenship.
