GDC Ramgarh hosts enlightening lecture on "NALSA Welfare Schemes" in collaboration with DLSA Samba

SAMBA: Government Degree College (GDC) Ramgarh organized an insightful lecture on the "Welfare schemes of the National Legal Services Authority" (NALSA), in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Samba.

The event was held under the esteemed chairmanship of the Principal District Session Judge Samba, Adnan Syed and with the directions of the Secretary (Sub Judge), Rekha Nischal. The whole program was conducted under the guidance and supervision of the Principal of the college Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra,.

The lecture was delivered by Advocate Rahul Sharma, a distinguished panel lawyer from the District Legal Services Authority, and was assisted by Para legal volunteers of DLSA Sanjeev Padha and Mannu Rani.

Advocate Rahul Sharma provided a comprehensive overview of NALSA, SALSA (State Legal Services Authority) and DLSA. He highlighted various key welfare schemes of NALSA and detailed how NALSA has been instrumental in offering legal services to disaster victims, victims of trafficking and sexual exploitation, to workers in non-organized sectors, who often lack access to legal resources, child-friendly legal services, and services to mentally ill and disabled individuals in navigating legal challenges.

Additionally, he emphasized NALSA's initiatives to raise awareness and provide medical support to drug victims through various camps, as well as the free legal services available to senior citizens. He also addressed the support provided to victims of acid attacks, highlighting both legal assistance and awareness efforts aimed at helping survivors.

Sharma urged students to spread information about these welfare schemes within their families, relatives and among communities. His call to action emphasized the importance of spreading awareness to ensure that individuals in need can access the legal support available to them.

The lecture was attended by all the faculty members and students of the college.
