SAMBA: NSS Unit (KHIDMAT) of GDC Vijaypur today organized a screening of documentary on ‘Types of Elections in India' under the banner of Vote ka Parv Desh ka Garv and Mera Pehla Vote Desh Ke Liye to students and faculty members of the college.

The documentary was a great inspiration for the students as the students came to know about the importance of voting and types of elections in India. NSS volunteers and other college students participated in the documentary screening with great enthusiasm and zeal.

The documentary deliberated upon the purpose to inculcate constitutional obligations and to encourage staff and students to cast their vote. It also deliberated upon how India runs the world's biggest democratic elections.

The event was organized under able guidance of Dr. (Prof.) Vandana Gupta, Principal of the college where she briefed the students about the fundamental rights and duties of the Indian Constitution.

The idea of this programme is to educate college students about the importance of voting. She further said that voting is an important civic duty that can significantly impact the future of our country.

The event was organized with the support of senior faculty members like Prof. Anita Jamwal (HOD Political Science), Prof. Mamta Kundal (HOD Commerce) and Dr. Anoop Bhagat (HOD Sociology).

The event was coordinated by Prof. Poonam Kundan (HOD Environmental Sciences), Dr. Manoj Heer (HOD Dogri), Dr. Naseem Chowdhary (NSS PO) and Prof. Meetu Sharma (HOD Geography).
