SOPORE: National Conference Vice-President Omar Abdullah Thursday said that BJP will forget talking on Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) after facing defeat in all five Lok Sabha seats in Jammu and Kashmir.

The former chief minister made these remarks day after Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that Centre is considering revocation of AFSPA and withdrawal of troops from Jammu and Kashmir.

"New Delhi is again mocking people of Jammu and Kashmir like they hoodwink people of Ladakh over Statehood and Sixth Schedule. The Union Home Minister Amit Shah has flagged up AFSPA issue once again. This is all aimed at cheating people of Jammu and Kashmir ahead of Lok Sabha elections. I am sure once BJP will face wrath of people in all Lok Sabha seats in Jammu and Kashmir they will again forget the matter of AFSPA and withdrawal of troops," Omar Abdullah said while addressing people's convention in north Kashmir's Sopore.

"We have seen similar promises in past but not a single one were fulfilled. These promises are political gimmicks of BJP," he added.
