Two fraudsters involved in scamming people via social media held in Pulwama: J&K Police

PULWAMA: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday said that to have arrested two fraudsters involved in scamming people and collected money by deceitful means in South Kashmir's Pulwama district.

A Police spokesperson said, "Police station Pulwama received an application from one person namely Mehraj Ud Din Najar S/o Gh Hassan Najar R/0 Dalipora to the effect that one person namely Irfan Ahmad Bhat S/0 Ab Rashid Bhat R/0 Wadoora, Bomai Sopore has uploaded his old diseased photograph on his Facebook account and mentioned his Own account Number and Phone number for the purpose of collecting money on his name."

"Consequent upon this report a case FIR no 51/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered and investigation taken up", he said.

" During the course of investigation it came to fore that the two persons namely Irfan Ahmad Bhat S/0 Ab Rahim Bhat R/0 Wadoora , Bomai ,Sopore and another Juvenile( Name witheld ) hatched a conspiracy to deceive the people by creating two Facebook accounts on the name of Sameer Tigers & Apna Sarkar and posted on them the old diseased photograph of complainant and mentioned their own account number and phone number and have collected money by deceitful means."

He said that both the accused involved in the commission of crime have been apprehended and further investigation is going on.
