GDC Vijaypur organises Voter Awareness Programme

SAMBA: Department of Political Science, Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and NSS Unit (KHIDMAT) of Government Degree College Vijaypur, in collaboration with District Election Office, organized Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation Program (SVEEP 2023) to create educate the young college students/citizens about the importance of their participation in the elections.

The program was organized in collaboration with the Election Commission of India (ECI) and included several informative sessions and interactive activities to engage with the participants. The program was attended by faculty members, college students and NSS Volunteers.

A team from District Election Office Samba comprising Kameshwar Dubey (BLO Supervisor), Muneer Hussain (BLO), Mohammad Abdulla (BLO) and Sunil Sharma (Handloom Deptt.) conducted a series of sessions on varied topics related to the electoral process, including the role of the Election Commission of India, the process of voter registration, the use of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), and the importance of ethical voting.

The program received positive feedback from the participants, who found it informative and engaging. Participants also appreciated the efforts of the District Election Office Vijaypur in organizing such a program and creating awareness about the electoral process.

Welcome address was delivered by Prof. Ritu Bhagat (Convenor IQAC); coordinated by Prof. Renuka Kundal (Lecturer Political Science) and Dr. Naseem Chowdhary (NSS PO).
