MUMBAI: Expanding its portfolio of 4G feature phones, Reliance Jio has launched JioPhone Prima at an attractive price Rs 2,599.
Built on the Kai-OS platform, it offers access to popular apps like YouTube, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Google Voice Assistant. It also supports UPI payments.
Featuring a 2.4-inch display screen and an impressive 1800mAh battery, this device offers an array of features. It supports 23 languages. JioPhone Prima is available at retail stores and popular online platforms like Reliance Digital, JioMart Electronics, and Amazon.
This device is equipped with digital cameras and supports video calls and photography. What sets it apart is the integration of Jio's digital services, including JioTV, JioCinema, JioSaavn, and JioPay for UPI payments.

The phone is locked for Jio network and the user needs to have a JioPhone plan.

The JioPhone Prima, which was showcased at the India Mobile Congress this year, is a sequel to the original JioPhone, which was launched back in 2017. The device is positioned between the higher-end JioPhone Next, which is priced at Rs 499 and the more affordable JioPhone Bharat, which is priced at Rs 999.
Reliance Jio wants to migrate 250 million legacy 2G users to its 4G networks through the JioPhone portfolio of 4G feature hones.
Jio's head of devices, Sunil Dutt said, adding that Jio is in talks with Nokia, Lava, Itel and other major feature phone makers to make their own versions of the JioPhone Bharat.
