DGP sanctions Rs 4.03 cr special welfare, ex-gratia relief

JAMMU: Director General of Police (DGP), Dilbag Singh, has sanctioned Rs 3.48 crore as special welfare relief in favour of the dependents/legal heirs of the deceased police personnel and SPOs.

An amount of Rs 55 lakh has also been sanctioned in favour of the legal heirs and dependents of a martyred police official and an SPO.

As per a statement, the DGP has sanctioned Rs 38 lakh ex-gratia relief in favour of NoK of martyr SgCT Safiullah Qadri and Rs 17 lakh ex-gratia in favour of the family members of martyr SPO Mohammad Tahir Khan.

"A special welfare loan of Rs 22 lakh each has also been sanctioned in favour of the dependents/legal heirs of deceased ASI Krishan Lal, HCs Ravinder Singh, Manzoor Ahmad, Rajnish Khajuria, Mehraj-ud-Din, Ajit Kumar, Ranjeet Singh, Balbir Singh, Naresh Kumar; SgCTs Imtiaz Ahmad, Rattan Paul, Mohammad Quyoom, Waseem Iqbal and constables Liyaqat Ali and Kamal Singh," read the statement.

Rs 6 lakh each as special welfare relief has also been sanctioned in favour of the dependents and legal heirs of deceased SPOs Mohan Lal, Rajat Choudry and Wali Mohammad, it said.
