DHEW conducts one day Workshop on 'Legal Rights of women' under mission Shakti at Udhampur

UDHAMPUR: District Hub for Empowerment of Women Udhampur, in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority Udhampur, today organized a Day Long legal awareness programme to sensitize the women about their legal Rights held at Conference Hall of DC Office Udhampur.

The event was attended by participant from ICDS, NRLM, OSC, Elderline, Special Cell and health department. More than 100 participants were present to be part of workshop.

The chief Guest of the programme was Rajni Sharma (Secretary/Sub-judge DLSA).

The programme was presided by Kanika Gupta( Nodal officer (DHEW) /District Social Welfare Officer) Udhampur. She welcomed all the guests and participants and also threw light on the aims of BBBP and addressed issues related to declining child sex ratio (CSR) , women empowerment, removal of gender inequality to protecting a girl child .

The resource persons for the event Advocate Akhil Dubey, Advocate Mallik Arjun Singh Salathia and Advocate Akash Sanmotra educated the participants on various legal rights of women. They also talked about women empowerment, Dowry prohibition act, immortal trafficking act, family court act, maternity benifit act and social reformist moment .

Speaking on the occasion, Centre Administrator from One stop centre Meena kumari highlighted the overall services provided by the OSC and Social worker Afia from special cell also talked about women oriented schemes.

Lastly, the chief guest for the day, Rajni motivated women to believe in themselves and also counselled the women regarding their legal problems.

At the end of the programme Jyoti Pathania District Mission Coordinator concluded the event with vote of thanks.
