Teachers Day celebrations: Gandhi Memorial College, Srinagar organizes cultural programme

SRINAGAR: The Debates and Cultural Committee, Gandhi Memorial College, Srinagar today organized a cultural programme as part of Teachers Day celebrations in the college auditorium, here.

The programme started with 'burning of Harmal', a traditional ritual.

The Principal of the college, Prof (Dr) Asmat presented the keynote address. In her speech, the principal highlighted the role played by teachers in the physical, spiritual and professional development of students.

She stressed on the effective interactions between students and teachers for enhancing the teaching-learning outcomes. Five students delivered speeches hailing the role of teachers in their academic journey so far.

On this occasion students presented a number of cultural programmes which include Kashmiri Rouf, Qawali, ghazals and Skit. The performance of the students mesmerized the audience.

The programme was attended by a large number of students besides the faculty member.
