GANDERBAL: An awareness programme on the rising drug menace was today held at Qamaria Model Higher Secondary School (QMHSS) Bamloora, Ganderbal, under the Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan.

The event was organized by the Cultural Unit Kashmir of Department of Information & Public Relations, Jammu and Kashmir (DIPR J&K), in collaboration with the district administration Ganderbal, through District Information Centre, Ganderbal.

The programme was coordinated by the Municipal Council Ganderbal, with active participation from departments viz. Education, Health, and Social Welfare, aiming to sensitize the youth about the harmful effects of substance abuse.

A moving and impactful folk song performance based on the theme of drug de-addiction was presented by a local artist group. The presentation left a strong impression on the audience and effectively conveyed the message of staying away from drugs.

Officers and dignitaries present urged the students to stay aware, make informed choices, and take forward the message of a drug-free society within their families and communities.

DIPR remains committed to the cause and keen to organize such awareness programmes on a regular basis. These initiatives are aligned with the government's mission to eradicate drug abuse and foster a healthier, more responsible youth.

The event concluded with all participants taking a pledge to stand united against drug addiction and to actively contribute to spreading awareness.
