SRINAGAR: An awareness programme addressing the growing threat of drug abuse was today held at Boys Higher Secondary School (BHSS) Gulabbagh under the Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan, organized by the Cultural Unit Kashmir of Department of Information & Public Relations, Jammu and Kashmir (DIPR J&K).
The event saw enthusiastic participation from students and staff, aimed at spreading awareness about the harmful consequences of drug addiction.
A powerful and engaging skit was presented by the Yemberzal Youth Club, effectively highlighting the dangers of substance abuse. The play left a lasting impression on the audience and served as a strong reminder of the urgent need to stay away from drugs.
Principal of the institution, Oscia Jabeen Baba and Senior Lecturer Mumtaz Hussain Raja urged students to stay vigilant and act as agents of awareness in their communities.
Burhan Hussain, Cultural Officer Kashmir from the DIPR J&K, reiterated the department's commitment to conducting such programmes regularly in line with government directives. He stressed that raising awareness is key to fighting this social evil and encouraged youth to adopt a drug-free lifestyle.
The programme concluded with a collective pledge by all participants to stand united against drug abuse and promote a healthier society.
