RAJOURI: A meeting of the District Level Committee (DLC) on the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U) 2.0 was held in the VC Room of DC Office Complex today to review the status and the implementation of the housing scheme for urban poor.
The meeting was chaired by District Development Commissioner Abhishek Sharma.
At the outset, the meeting reviewed the status of applications received on the Unified Web Portal and assessed the verification and validation progress of the same by the respective Urban Local Bodies (ULBs).
The meeting was attended by Committee members including Assistant Commissioner Revenue Mohammad Jhangir Khan; District Social Welfare Officer Abdul Raheem; Lead Bank Manager; Senior Manager, Housing Units of J&K Housing Board (Member Secretary); Executive Officer Municipal Council Rajouri, Executive Officers from the Municipal Committees of Nowshera, Sunderbani, Kalakote and Thannamandi.
After a detailed discussion and review, the Committee approved 14 petitions seeking assistance under PMAY-U 2.0.
The District Development Commissioner emphasised the importance of timely validation of pending applications and instructed all Executive Officers to expedite the process to provide immediate benefit to urban poor.
He further highlighted the government's commitment to providing Housing to all homeless and reiterated the need for close coordination among departments to ensure transparent and efficient implementation of the scheme in the district. |
