PONCH: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Vikas Kundal chaired a 3rd District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC) meeting under Mission YUVA to review and approve self-employment cases under the NANO Enterprises component and evaluate the mission's progress in the district.
The meeting was attended by key officials, including Pankaj Magotra, Additional District Development Commissioner and Mission YUVA Nodal Officer; Mr. Khalid Wafa, General Manager, District Industries Centre; Mr. Abdul Majid Tantray, Deputy Director, District Employment and Counselling Centre Poonch along with representatives from agriculture, horticulture, handicrafts, JKEDI, NRLM and the Lead District Manager.
The session began with a review of Mission YUVA's progress, highlighting its focus on promoting NANO Enterprises to create livelihood opportunities for local youth. The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the initiative's role in empowering unemployed youth through financial and institutional support for micro-enterprises.
A total of 51 cases were presented for approval under the NANO Enterprises category, each thoroughly evaluated for feasibility, sustainability and employment potential. After detailed discussions, all 51 cases were approved, reflecting the district's commitment to fostering entrepreneurship. Among the beneficiaries was Qasid Naveed, a 19-year-old aspiring entrepreneur whose innovative proposal was approved, showcasing the program's support for young talent. During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner personally handed over sanction letters to beneficiaries, including Qasid, encouraging them to leverage the opportunity to build sustainable ventures.
The Deputy Commissioner praised the collaborative efforts of all departments and stressed the need for continued inter-departmental coordination to ensure seamless implementation. The committee expressed satisfaction with the growing enthusiasm among youth for such initiatives and reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, efficiency and inclusivity in executing government schemes.
