SRINAGAR: In line with the directives of the Commissioner SMC, Faz Lul Haseeb, Joint Commissioner SMC (Adm), Nuzhat Khurshid, today conducted a comprehensive inspection of Muharram arrangements in Khomeini Chowk Bemina.
During the visit, Nuzhat engaged with senior citizens and local representatives to evaluate the preparedness for the upcoming Muharram Ul Haram 2025 observances. The discussions focused on key civic issues such as repairing damaged manholes around the Imam Bargah, macadamization of lanes, installation of street lights, development of Imam Bargah Park, and ensuring the availability of 24/7 drinking water.
Immediate directions were issued to enhance sanitation, cleanliness, street lighting, and water supply during Muharram gatherings. Particular emphasis was placed on the installation, repair, and maintenance of street lights to ensure the safety and well-being of mourners, especially during evening processions.
Srinagar Municipal Corporation reaffirmed its commitment to facilitating a smooth and respectful Muharram observance by working in close coordination with all stakeholders. SMC remains prepared to provide full support and essential civic services to ensure a peaceful and dignified commemoration of this significant religious occasion.
The visit was undertaken, with senior officials including the Executive Engineer City Roads Division, Executive Engineer Drainage Circle, Executive Engineer Electric, Chief Sanitation Officer, Sanitation Officer, and the concerned Ward Officer present on the tour. |
