UDHAMPUR: Department of Social Welfare Udhampur organized free distribution camp of aids and appliances for senior citizens under RVY scheme and for Divayangjans under ADIP in Tehsil Social Welfare Office Ramnagar in collaboration with ALIMCO.

MLA Ramnagar, Sunil Bhardwaj graced the occasion as chief guest.

District Social Welfare Officer, Kanika Gupta presented welcome address and apprised the chair about the details of the camp.

A total of 354 devices were to be handed over to 149 beneficiaries costing around Rs. 10 lacs.

While speaking on the occasion, MLA Ramnagar, Sunil Bhardwaj congratulated the beneficiaries and applauded the efforts of Social Welfare Department in serving the needy people. He distributed various assistive devices such as motorized tricycle, artificial limbs, wheelchairs, hearing aid and cane sticks among the beneficiaries. He also directed the department to organize such camps at regular interval so that left out beneficiary if any is covered.

The program saw gathering of around 200 people including team from Artificial Limbs Organization of India, SHO Ramnagar, staff of Social Welfare and beneficiaries of the scheme.

Earlier in the previous day, a similar distribution camp was organized in Block Majalta covering around 50 beneficiaries to whom 87 devices were distributed.
