KUPWARA: On the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan, mega awareness cum enrollment camp was held at village Lohikote in Mawar block to provide mass awareness about various centrally sponsored schemes under the ongoing ‘Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan.'
The Abhiyan, aimed for saturation of centrally sponsored schemes in far flung tribal villages of the district, was attended by a large number of people.
The Abhiyan will continue till June 30 for coverage of the targeted beneficiaries. During this period, Awareness and Benefit Saturation Camps will be organized in 14 blocks of district Kupwara, targeting 14 tribal villages of these blocks for awareness and saturation of the individual benefit oriented schemes.
On the occasion, Block Development Officer (BDO) Mawar highlighted the aim and objectives of Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan before the participants. He said the Abhiyan is not only a measure of saturating government schemes in tribal areas but also at raising awareness, bridging gaps in services delivery and fostering socio-economic and political empowerment to advance tribal inclusive socio-economic development.
Meanwhile, around 95 beneficiaries were enrolled under various government schemes during the camp. The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude towards the District Administration for reaching out at their doorsteps for redressal of their pending issues.
Block Development Officer Mawar, Block Medical Officer, Zonal Education Officer, Agriculture Officer, besides representatives from line departments were present in the camp. |
