DC flags-off IEC van to enhance awareness about the campaign

PULWAMA: In view of the nation-wide Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA) initiative, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Dr.Basharat Qayoom today flagged-off an IEC awareness van from Circuit House Pulwama, initiating saturation camps across tribal villages in the district.

The van will visit each tribal settlement, enhancing public awareness through audio-visual messages in vernacular languages, outlining theme and objectives of DAJGUA along with various central and state welfare schemes, a critical step in ensuring last-mile outreach.

Later in the day, DC convened a joint session with district officers & village headmen, senior citizens, youth, and representatives of tribal areas.

During the session, various district officers briefed the participants on various Govt. schemes, eligibility criteria, entitlement procedures, delivery mechanisms, and the department-wise action plan for the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan.

Speaking on the occasion, DC emphasised that the Dharti Aaba Abhiyan is a nation-wide initiative aimed at achieving holistic development of tribal communities through the saturation of welfare schemes and last-mile delivery of services.

"Pulwama administration has already completed a comprehensive gap analysis exercise in tribal areas under the supervision of Block Development Officers, and these gaps will be addressed through targeted interventions during the campaign," said the DC.

He further directed all the line departments to ensure complete coverage and saturation of tribal households in relevant Govt. schemes and initiatives during the campaign in line with the Abhiyan's vision of "Last Mile, First Priority".

He also urged tribal youth and community leaders to spread the message and ensure active participation from every corner so that the objectives of the Abhiyan are fully achieved.

Besides, DC also felicitated meritorious students and outstanding SHGs from tribal areas with mementos and certificates.

During the session, tribal community members, leaders and youth representatives extended heartfelt gratitude to the administration for organizing the session, and shared suggestions and grievances related to local infrastructure, forest rights, education, and health services.

During the campaign, dedicated benefit and saturation camps from 15th to 30th June will be organised across the tribal areas in the district. These camps will offer on-the-spot services such as Aadhaar enrolment, Ayushman Bharat cards, Jan Dhan account openings, schemes under agriculture, livestock, and horticulture, drinking water and electricity connections, health services, education assistance, food security schemes, skill development, forest rights claims, youth sports initiatives, and more.

These camps, aligned with national guidelines, serve as single-window platforms to facilitate seamless delivery of government entitlements.
