DAJGUA campaign launched at Aragam to empower tribal communities of Bandipora

DC B'pora stresses saturation of government schemes and inclusive tribal development

BANDIPORA: As part of the nationwide awareness and benefit saturation campaign, district administration Bandipora today launched the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA) at Government Higher Secondary School Aragam, Bandipora, kick-starting a 15-day campaign aimed at saturation of government schemes across 31 notified tribal villages in the district.

The programme presided over by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri witnessed participation of District Development Council Member Hajin B, Ghulam Mustafa Khan, civil society representatives, youth delegates and large public gathering.

On the occasion, DC highlighted the objective of the campaign, which focuses on holistic development, economic empowerment, and social upliftment of tribal communities through convergence of welfare schemes.

Speaking at the launch event, DC stressed the importance of proactive field-level implementation and urged tribal residents to participate wholeheartedly to ensure no eligible beneficiary is left uncovered.

The campaign, running from June 15 to June 30, includes awareness drives, benefit distribution camps, health screenings, skill development linkages, and saturation of schemes like PMAY, Ujjwala, PM-KISAN, pension schemes, scholarship assistance, and more.

On the occasion, DDC Member Hajin B, Dr. Ghulam Mustafa Khan appreciated the district administration for organizing DAJGUA launch event and appealed to the public to actively participate in the upcoming camps to avail benefits of various government schemes.

Various departments including Health, Education, Social Welfare, RDD, Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, and others had set up dedicated stalls at the venue to extend on-spot benefits and services to eligible beneficiaries. These departments showcased various welfare schemes and facilitated enrollment, awareness, and immediate assistance as part of the saturation drive. The event also featured cultural presentations and interactions with tribal youth and elders.

During the event, DC also felicitated students from tribal communities who had recently excelled in academic examinations, encouraging them to continue their pursuit of education and serve as role models within their communities.

Speaking on the occasion, DC reaffirmed the district administration's commitment to inclusive development and called for community cooperation in making Bandipora a model for tribal empowerment.

Among others, the event was attended by Programme Officer ICDS, Chief Planning Officer, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, District Information Officer, LDM Bandipora, ExEn I&FC, BDO Arin and other concerned officials.
