BANDIPORA: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri, chaired the District Consultative Committee / District Level Review Committee ((DCC/DLRC) meeting for the fourth quarter (ending March 2025) of the financial year 2024-25 at the Mini Secretariat Bandipora.
During the meeting, Lead District Manager (LDM) Bandipora, provided a detailed presentation on the performance of banks operating in the district across key financial and social sectors. He highlighted sector-wise credit flow, achievements under the Annual Credit Plan (ACP), implementation status of social security schemes, and the performance under flagship employment and entrepreneurship programmes.
DC reviewed the performance of financial institutions and the progress made under various government-sponsored schemes during the fourth quarter. He stressed the need to address bottlenecks and challenges hampering banking performance in the district.
He emphasized the importance of timely credit disbursal, improved coordination between banks and departments, and focused efforts to achieve 100% saturation under flagship schemes.
It was informed that as of March 31, 2025, the district has achieved 66% of the ACP target (PS+NPS), by disbursing Rs.1123.25 crore against the annual target of Rs.1691.29 crore. The priority sector achieved Rs.590.99 crore (72% of target), while the non-priority sector recorded Rs.532.25 crore (61% of target). Among priority sectors, the agriculture sector led with 96% achievement, followed by MSME (60%) and micro enterprises (95%). Notably, small and marginal farmers received Rs.24.8 crore, surpassing the target with 141% achievement.
DC directed that 100% saturation under Jan Suraksha schemes (PMJJBY, PMSBY & PMJDY) be achieved through aggressive outreach and collaboration with line departments. He directed departments and banks to improve KCC issuance, especially under Animal Husbandry, Dairy, and Fisheries sectors.
On the occasion, DC reiterated the need for strengthening grassroots financial inclusion, particularly through increased support to priority sector lending, agriculture, entrepreneurship, and employment generation schemes.
Among others, the meeting was attended by the Chief Planning Officer, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, LDM Bandipora, officers of various departments, and representatives from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and other stakeholders. |
