BANDIPORA: In preparation for the 11th International Day of Yoga to be celebrated on June 21, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri today chaired a comprehensive meeting at the Mini Secretariat Bandipora to review and finalize the necessary arrangements for the smooth conduct of Yoga Day events across the district.
During the meeting, DC emphasized the importance of the International Day of Yoga in promoting physical and mental well-being, and called for collective efforts to ensure successful district-wide participation.
He directed concerned departments to make all logistical and technical arrangements, including ensuring medical and emergency support, availability of drinking water, sanitation and transportation.
It was informed that the main event will be organized at S.K. Stadium Bandipora, where a large number of participants including students, officials, and civil society members are expected to attend the early morning session on June 21.
During the meeting, DC stressed the need for awareness campaigns leading up to the event to encourage maximum public involvement, especially among youth. He directed concerned officers from Youth Services & Sports, AYUSH, and Education to organize preparatory sessions in schools, colleges, and training centers across the district.
He further emphasized that contingency plans be put in place in case of inclement weather, and directed all departments to ensure seamless coordination for the success of the national event at the district level.
