GDC Ajas organises Awareness programme on Corporal Punishment, its ill effects

BANDIPORA: The Government Degree College (GDC) Ajas, under the banner of ‘My Constitution My Pride', today organised an awareness programme on Corporal Punishment and its detrimental effects.

The event aimed to shed light on the repercussions of corporal punishment and promote a culture of understanding and empathy in educational institutions.

On the occasion, Bilal Ahmad Bhat, from the Department of Education, emphasized the importance of creating a nurturing educational environment free from physical discipline, fostering intellectual growth and emotional well-being.

Dr. Mohammad Hussain Yatoo, a member of the Department of Political Science, provided a broader societal perspective on the implications of corporal punishment, linking it to fundamental human rights and the principles enshrined in the constitution.

The Principal, Prof Dr. Parveen Kousar eloquently articulated the college's commitment to fostering a safe and supportive learning environment. She emphasized the pivotal role of educators in shaping the future by adopting non-violent disciplinary measures.
