DC Rajouri reviews execution of IWM projects in Block Doongi

RAJOURI: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal today chaired a meeting of the concerned officers to review the progress on the projects being executed under Integrated Watershed management program.

Officers present in the meeting included CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; PO IWMP, Mohd Sheraz Chouhan , CAO, Sohan Singh, DSEO, Sandeep Sharma and Concerned Engineers.

At the outset, the PO IWMP informed that the Integrated Water Management Program's main objective was to restore ecological balance by harnessing, conserving and developing degraded natural resources such as soil, vegetative cover and water.

It was informed that in Rajouri the IWM program is being implemented in Block Doongi at an estimated cost of Rs 9.45 cores with 09 projects. He further informed that the works are located in four Panchayats of the Block Doongi, including Dhara Sanwala, Namblan, Doongi Bhramna and Tethyali pothal.

The DDC asked the concerned officers to ensure that all the projects are completed at the earliest so that the benefits reach the general public.

The DDC also directed the technical staff to tender all the projects at the earliest. He also directed the PO IWMP to furnish the geotagged photos of all the works completed so far to his office.
