SHOPIAN: One day district level workshop on Panchayat Advancement Index 2.O (PAI) was held today at Conference Hall, Mini Secretariat Shopian in order to apprise the stakeholder departments about the Localised Sustainable Development Goals (LSDGs).
Diverse sessions on SDGs, their relevance to Panchayats, structure and utility of PAI and its linkage with the nine LSDG themes besides understanding new improvements in the new evaluation tools were conducted by theme experts.
The sessions were presided over by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Shopian, Dr.Nasir Ahmad Lone, and were attended by ACP, GM DIC, DTO, ExEn PDD, CAO and other officers and officials of various departments.
The focus of the workshop was on apprising the stakeholder officials about the new and improved version of Panchayat Evaluation and Assessment.
Panchayat Assessment Index ( PAI), formerly Panchayat Development Index( PDI) is a comprehensive tool designed to assess the multi dimensional development status of a panchayat, where it evaluates the progress of panchayats in achieving the Localised Sustainable Development Goals (LSDGs).
Convergent Planning, pooling minimum resources with maximum output was emphasised. Nine themes to be targeted for saturation included advancements in sectors including Infrastructure, health, education, social development, governance, environment, etc. |
