JAMMU: The Jammu & Kashmir Branch of the Northern India Regional Council (NIRC) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) celebrated the 77th Chartered Accountants Day at ICAI Bhawan, Jammu, with a vibrant and service-oriented lineup of activities.
The day was marked by deep professional pride, community outreach, and a renewed commitment to the values that define the Chartered Accountancy profession.
The celebrations began with the flag hoisting ceremony, followed by a plantation drive, where members and students actively participated in planting saplings around the ICAI premises-symbolizing sustainability and responsibility towards future generations.
The programme was graced by CA Sat Sharma (President of BJP - J&K), who acknowledged the invaluable role of CAs in upholding financial discipline, transparency, and public trust. He commended the Jammu & Kashmir branch for its consistent efforts in blending professional activities with meaningful social impact.
A standout feature of the day was the blood donation camp, where over 55+ Chartered Accountants and students turned into lifesavers, donating blood not as a formality but as a heartfelt gesture of solidarity and compassion. The selfless contributions reflected the spirit of service that lies at the core of the profession.
A free health check-up camp, supported by Narayana & Metropolis Hospital and Titan Eye+, offered essential wellness screenings including vitals, sugar, ECG, and vision tests. The initiative was well-received and emphasized the importance of preventive healthcare among professionals.
Chairman CA Sourav Pargal, in his address, emphasized the evolving identity of the Chartered Accountant-not just as a financial expert, but as a leader and nation-builder. He spoke about the need for the profession to continue embracing innovation, ethical standards, and community responsibility in this transformative era.
