DHSJ visits village Dhar Sakri, Block Kandi following Gastroenteritis outbreak

JAMMU: In response to the outbreak of gastroenteritis cases in village Dhar Sakri of Block Kandi, the Director Health Services Jammu, Dr. Abdul Hamid Zargar conducted an on-ground visit to the affected area.

The Director was accompanied by State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Jammu Dr. Harjeet Rai and Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Rajouri Dr. Manohar Rana.

During the visit, the Director met the affected individuals and interacted with members of the local community. He took a review of the present situation and appreciated the swift and effective work being carried out by the health teams under the close supervision and monitoring of CMO Rajouri.

Dr. Zargar also assessed the availability of essential medicines and reviewed the functioning of the health teams during a meeting held with local health functionaries.

As part of the public health protocol, samples were collected from the area for further laboratory investigation to determine the source of the outbreak and to prevent further spread.

Later, the Director visited Government Medical College & Associated Hospital (GMC & AH) Rajouri, where some patients from Dhar Sakri are currently admitted. He interacted with the patients, inquired about their well-being and assured them that the Health Department remains vigilant and committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of the public and all necessary measures are being taken to control the situation effectively.
