JAMMU: Foiling two separate attempts of bovine smuggling at Ramnagar and Kakryal, Police rescued five bovine animals even as the alleged smugglers managed to escape.

Acting on reliable information, police team from PP Ghordi rescued three bovines near the Sarsoo area, where these animals were being taken on foot towards without any valid permission.

Even as all the bovines were rescued, the alleged smuggler managed to escape from the spot. In this regard, a case has been registered at Police Station Ramnagar under the relevant sections of law.

In Katra, Police rescued two bovine animals, which were being smuggled in a load carrier JK03N-5021. The said load carrier was intercepted by a Police team near Sool Nallah at Kakryal late last night while its driver managed to escape taking benefit of the darkness.

The bovine were rescued and the auto was seized while a case FIR has been registered in this connection at Police Station Katra.
