JAMMU: To observe the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the Drugs & Food Control Organisation (DFCO), J&K organized series of events/ awareness programs across all the Districts of Jammu & Kashmir to educate the public, particularly youth, about the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of living a healthy, drug-free life.
An awareness program was held in the Conference Hall of Rama Krishna Mission Charitable Hospital, Udheywalla, Jammu.
Speaking at the program, the Officers from DFCO underlined the importance of public cooperation in tackling drug trafficking and ensuring strict regulation of pharmaceuticals to prevent misuse.
The event witnessed participation from students, healthcare professionals, law enforcement officials, and members of civil society.
The event also featured informative sessions by Swami Yajnadhananda ji, Arvind Sharma, Assistant Drugs Controller, Jammu, Pankaj Malhotra, ADC (HQ) J&K, Dr B.D Sharma Ex- DHS, Jammu & Swami Vijayeshananda ji . The event was coordinated by S. Tejveer Singh Sodi, Drugs Control Officer.
Awareness event and a rally was also organised at Katra and Reasi respectively to raise public awareness about the imminent need to combat the menace of drug abuse.
Drug and Food Control Organization Samba, in collaboration with the Chemists and Druggists Association, conducted an awareness program. The initiative included the distribution of IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) material, which was displayed prominently at nursing homes, chemist shops, and other key locations across Samba. The event was conducted under the supervision of Deputy Drug Controller Rajesh Anguralla,.
Awareness Programs and Rallies were also conducted at Doda, Kishtwar & Bhaderwah, under the supervision of Drug Control Officer Munish Gupta, which witnessed participation from a large number of people from different sections of the society & members of Pharma trade fraternity.
Udhampur Wing of Drugs & Food Control Organisation, in collaboration with the District administration and social welfare department conducted an awareness program in which a singer cum guitarist Anirudh Sharma gave a mesmerising performance. The Program was chaired by Deputy Commissioner and attended by several district officers and students who were presented mementos for the cultural activities by the social welfare department's Sanjeev Gupta, ADC, Udhampur coordinated the said program.
Similarly, Rallies, Symposiums and Debate Competitions were also held in Rajouri, Poonch ,Kathua and parts of Kashmir Division. |
