J&K Deaf Athletes shine at National Championship, win 12 Medals

JAMMU: The All Jammu & Kashmir Sports Association of the Deaf, affiliated with the All India Sports Council of the Deaf, New Delhi and the Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council, announced the exceptional performance of its athletes at the 27th National Deaf Senior Sports Championship and the 10th National Deaf Junior & Sub-Junior Championship, held from June 13 to 23 in Kanpur.

Athletes from Jammu & Kashmir showcased remarkable skill, determination and sportsmanship, bringing home a total of 12 medals across different categories. Their outstanding achievements have brought immense pride to the Union Territory.

Among the medal winners were Rakesh Singh and Rakhshinda Mehak, who secured gold medals for their top performances. Nabeel Ahmed Dar, Ajaz Ahmed, Shikha Kumari and Sonam Chib earned silver medals, while Vishal Khajuria, Gulshan Kumar Sharma, Garima Misra and Anamulla Rather clinched bronze. Ajaz Ahmed Bhat also made a mark by winning a silver medal in Karate.
