Celebrating Excellence: Dir Education felicitates Sehrish Jahangir

KULGAM: A felicitation ceremony was held at Higher Secondary School Bugam, Kulgam to honor outstanding academic achievers. The highlight of the event was the recognition of Sehrish Jahangir, a 12th class student of the institution, who secured 2nd position in the Science stream across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

The ceremony was graced by the Director of School Education, Kashmir, Dr. G. N. Itoo, who felicitated Sehrish Jahangir for her exceptional performance. Dr Itoo also congratulated the students, their parents, and teachers for their hard work and success in the Class 10th and 12th examinations for which results were declared by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (BOSE).

In his address, Dr Itoo stated that the Department of Education has implemented the National Education Policy 2020 and undertaken several initiatives to modernize school education, among which the establishment of ICT laboratories is particularly noteworthy. He added that aligning the education system with contemporary demands remains a top priority of the state government.

On this occasion, Chief Education Officer Kulgam, Mohammad Shabir, welcomed the Director and expressed that his presence had greatly encouraged successful students, teachers, and field officers across the district. He also briefed the Director on the overall educational landscape of the district and mentioned that educational services are being advanced in full accordance with the Director's guidance.

Dr. Itoo, while addressing the gathering, further lauded the efforts of the students and the faculty, emphasizing the importance of dedication, hard work, and quality education in shaping the future of the region.

The event concluded with a round of applause and appreciation for the young achievers, with Sehrish Jahangir serving as an inspiration for her peers and juniors.
