Surmounting difficulties has become second nature to Lieutenant Colonel Ranveer Singh Jamwal from JAT regiment. The son of the soil from Samba who has the record of being the first resident of Jammu and Kashmir to climb Mount Everest twice. He climbed Mt. Everest on May 25, 2012 and on May 19, 2013, giving him the distinction of summiting Everest twice within twelve months. An experienced mountaineer who led an Army expedition of 30 climbers to Mount Everest with the dual purpose of marking 50 years of the ascent of the first Indian team and bringing down over 4,000 kilos of trash left behind by various expeditions on the slopes over the years.
