Jammu-Srinagar highway partially restored, stranded vehicles being cleared: Officials

RAMBAN: The Jammu-Srinagar highway was restored partially after remaining closed for the vehicular movement due to landslides at Kishtwari Pather and shooting stones at many places, Traffic officials said on Tuesday.

A J&K traffic official said, "Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44) has been partially restored and the stranded vehicles between Nashree and Banihal are being cleared."

"Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline, drive with cautiously as apprehension of shooting stones between Ramban and Banihal", he said.

Meanwhile, Mughal Road, connecting Kashmir Valley's Shopian district with twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch, remained closed and shall remain so "till further notice" following fresh snowfall, they said.
