‘Spardha: The Annual Sports Meet’ held at BOMIS

JAMMU: Birla Open Minds International School (BOMIS) organized ‘Spardha: The Annual Sports Meet' with great enthusiasm.

The sprawling school playground wore a festive look with colorful flags and school children looking equally colorful, bubbling with energy to encompass everyone in their celebration of sports and sportsmanship.

Kamal Sisodia Second in Command 76 Bn CRPF and Syed Mushtaq Ahmed Shah Bukhari, ex MLA-Surankote, ex-MoS- Social Welfare, ex VC- Pahari Advisory Board as the guests of honor, while Retd. Brig. Gurmeet Singh Shan was the chief guest on the occasion.

School Head Girl Insha Malik presented the welcome address, marking the beginning of the event. This was followed by lighting of the Sports Flame by the chief guest. The sports torch was carried by the School Sports Captain Aditya Sharma, who thereafter administered the oath to the participants.

School Principal, Aparana Kohli in her speech welcomed the guests, parents and all the spectators wherein she narrated the importance of the sports.

The series of events started with Saraswati and Ganesh Vandana followed by School March Past.

The meet was declared open by the chief guest wherein various events including 50mtrs (Flower Race), 80mtrs (Collect the Cones), 80mtrs (Pack my school bag), 160mtrs (Materchef), 100mtrs (Drag the ball race), 150mtrs (Balancing race), 100mtrs (Toss the ball), 200mtrs (Soldier race), 100mtrs (Balloon between the legs), 200mtrs (Skipping rope race), 300mtrs (Lock-Key race), 400mtrs (Fill the sack race), 400mtrs (Relay race), 100mtrs (Saree/Sack race), 100mtrs(One legged race), 200 mtrs (Open box race) were organized.
