Sikhs condemn ‘wrongful’ arrests in Wazir murder case

JAMMU: Some Sikh members of the civil society in Jammu and Kashmir have condemned the `wrongful' arrests of Sardar Sudershan Singh Wazir, H S Raina and Jagpal Singh in T S Wazi murder case.

Describing the trio as three respected and well-known members of the Sikh community having an absolutely clean background and no criminal history, they said that investigating agency has wrongfully implicated them in the tragic murder of Sardar T S Wazir, who was found dead in New Delhi last year.

Talking to media persons, here, Sardar Rajinder Singh alleged that the Crime Branch and Police were being misled by a third party which perhaps has monetary, business or political motivations and intention to gain out of this situation.

Raising a question mark on the murder conspiracy theory, he drew attention towards the confession of prime accused Harmeet Singh, who stated that he shot and killed T S Wazir in a fit of rage on hearing about the deceased's plans of getting Harmeet Singh and his son killed and the subsequent acceptance of this confession by the Delhi Crime Branch in their charge sheet submitted to the court last year.

He reiterated that Sardar Sudershan Singh Wazir was given a clean chit by the Crime Branch in all their investigations due to absence of any evidence of conspiracy.

"Hence, we request the investigating agencies to have a free and fair re-investigation into the matter besides immediate release of Sudershan Singh Wazir, H S Raina and Jagpal Singh," they said and also demanded Narco tests as well as Brain Mapping tests of all accused so that the truth can come out.
