Temple burglary solved within 24 hrs, 2 held

KISHTWAR: Police solved a burglary case within 24 hours and arrested two notorious thieves.

The burglary took place at a temple after which a written complaint was lodged at Police Station Kishtwar by the members of Shiv Mandir Committee Kishtwar stating that some thieves entered the temple during night hours and decamped with some cash from the temple safe.

A case in FIR No. 19/2023 U/S 457/380 IPC was registered at Police Station Kishtwar and investigation started.

SSP Kishtwar, Khalil Poswal constituted a special team headed by SHO Kishtwar Inspector Abid Bukhari under the supervision of Dy.SP Hqrs Kishtwar, Ashish Gupta.

During investigation the special team rounded up many suspects for questioning and with strenuous efforts the team finally nabbed the accused persons Sameer Sharma son of Srikrishan Sharma resident of Panditgam Kishtwar and a juvenile.

They were put to sustained interrogation in which they disclosed to have committed the theft.

On disclosure of the accused, recovery of Rs. 5500 was made by the investigating team.

Further investigation is going on to ascertain the involvement these thieves in other cases also.
