Awareness cum sensitisation program on Road Safety held at GDC Bishnah

JAMMU: Regional Transport Officer, Jammu Pankaj Bhagotra organised anawareness- cum- sensitisation program on ‘Road Safety' at Government Degree College, Bishnah, here today.

ARTO BOI (P) Esha Chib; Motor Vehicle Inspectors, Ranjeev Bhasin and Anupam Gandotra were also present on the occasion.

In his address, the RTO said that the main objective of organising such programmes in the educational institutions is to motivate the students to come forward and spread awareness about ‘Road safety' among the general public. He also asked the Principal of the college to constitute Road Safety Cells and organise First aid training programmes for the NSS and NCC cadets so that they can extend help to the accident victims and act as Good Samaritans.

Later, he felicitated the winners of the Symposium competition and also administered the Road Safety pledge to the students.

The symposium competition was followed by an awareness rally which began from Degree College and after passing through the Bishnah town culminated back at GDC.

In another awareness programme, various teams of MVD officers distributed helmets among the two wheeler riders.
