LG inaugurates Enchanting Ladakh at Dilli Haat

NEW DELHI: Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, R.K Mathur inaugurated 4th edition of Enchanting Ladakh at Dilli Haat in New Delhi.

Chairman, LAHDC Kargil, Feroz Ahmed Khan; Chairman, LAHDC Leh, Advocate Tashi Gyalson; MP Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal; Development Commissioner, Handicrafts, Shubhra; Commissioner/ Secretary, GAD, Ajeet Kumar Sahu; Commissioner/ Secretary, Industries and Commerce, Saugat Biswas and other officials were also present in the event.

About 86 artisans, craftspeople and entrepreneurs from Leh and Kargil are taking part in the 15-day event.

LG Mathur stated that exposure is being provided to artisans and craftspeople from Ladakh to showcase and promote their work in Delhi and other parts of the country.

Stating that the event at Dilli Haat is an important occasion for the artisans from Ladakh, he said that such platforms are perfect opportunities for them in dealing with and developing commercial relationships with rest of the country.

Mathur appreciated youth from Ladakh involved in the processing of Pashmina wool and setting up of different enterprises/units in food processing industry such as sea buckthorn etc.

Chairman, LAHDC Kargil, Feroz Ahmed Khan, expressed his pleasure in seeing the improvement made by the artisans from Kargil in their products over the course of three years.

Chairman LAHDC Leh, Tashi Gyalson also spoke on this occasion while MP Namgyal, highlighted various development activities taking place in Ladakh after the formation of Ladakh as a Union Territory.
