LG Ladakh virtually flags off 5 snow cutters for Kargil

LEH: Lieutenant Governor (LG) of Ladakh, RK Mathur on Monday virtually flagged off five Self Propelled Snow Cutter Blower machines of the Mechanical Division, Kargil.

The virtual flag-off ceremony was held at Council Secretariat Kargil and attended by Executive Councilor Works Mubarak Shah Naqvi, EC Tourism Er Phunsok Tashi, EC Health Mohsin Ali, Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve, Chief Engineer Mechanical Division UT Ladakh Afaq Showqat, Superintending Engineers of Mechanical Division, R&B, Irrigation and Flood Control, Executive Engineer Mechanical Division Kargil besides concerned officers.

Later, while addressing the officers of the Mechanical Division Kargil, EC Naqvi thanked UT Administration and congratulated Mechanical Department for dedicating the machines which will fasten the opening of important passes of Kargil during winter.

He expressed hope that just like last year, Kargil-Zanskar National Highway will remain open in winter this year as well and added that negotiations are going on with the UT Administration for keeping Zojila pass open in winter as well.
