General District Development Council meeting held in Kishtwar

Chairperson, members review implementation of developmental schemes

KISHTWAR: General District Development Council meeting was today held here at conference Hall DC office complex Mini Secretariat.

The Chairperson, District Development Council, Kishtwar Pooja Thakur chaired the meeting attended by the Block Development Council chairpersons and District Development Council members.

Besides, CEO District Development Council/Additional District Development Commissioner, Sham Lal; PO, ICDS Dr Rishi Kumar Sharma, ACP, Zakir Hussain Wani; DPO Sunil Bhutyal besides other Key officers of line Departments also remained present.

At the outset, the Chairperson, District Development Council took feedback on the action taken on the issues raised by General Council members in the previous council meetings, besides various other developmental issues were also discussed in the meeting.

The CEO District Dev. Council (ADDC) apprised the council about the progress made with regard to the action taken on the issues raised in the previous meeting.

He also informed the meeting that the majority of the grievances and issues have been redressed and the work on the rest of the grievances is under progress.

DDC, chairperson, stressed all the officers to work in a collective and collaborative manner with the members of District Development Council to redress the grievances of people effectively.

The CEO District Development Council and ACP Kishtwar also briefed the meeting about the Door to Door Collection of waste under SBM-G in detail.

Besides XEn, JJM also informed about the progress in the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission in the district.

Chairperson, DDC Kishtwar called for effective implementation of JJM in the District and public participation in the formulation of Water Supply schemes in the district.

Meanwhile, the house passed two resolutions seeking that the Exam session for all school of district Kishtwar should be in winter session (Oct-Nov) instead of March-April due to harsh weather conditions which create hurdles to students to focus on studies due to non availability of adequate power supply during winter months of January and February.

The second resolution passed by the council was related to the condolence over the death of Superintending Engineer R&B, Suresh Kumar Sharma and others in a recent accident in Doda.

The meeting also expressed heartfelt condolences for all those who lost their lives in the tragic accident at Marwah.

The CEO District Development Council Kishtwar assured that these resolutions will be submitted to the concerned quarters.

Later, BDCs and DDCs raised the issues and grievances of their respective areas. They demanded up-gradation of infrastructure in Health, Education, road connectivity and Rural Development sectors.

CEO, DDC Kishtwar assured them that their issues have been recorded and relevant action will be taken to resolve/redress them by taking the concerned officers on board.

The tendering under ADP has already been done and work shall be completed in a time bound manner, informed ACP Kishtwar.

Later, the DCC chairperson directed all the District and sectoral officers and executing agencies in particular to expedite the pace of works to achieve the set targets.
