JU organises lecture series on 'Consumer Rights Awareness'

JAMMU: The Department of Law, University of Jammu on 1-12-22 and 2-12-22 organizes lecture series on, "Consumer Rights Awareness" for LLB students.

The Speaker of the lecture was CMA Maheep Gupta, member State Consumers Dispute Redressal Commission Jammu and Kashmir.

Prof. Satinder Kumar, Head and Dean, Department of Law and Convener of the Programme delivered the welcome address while highlighting the importance of the Consumer Rights and also highlighted various important provisions of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

CMA Maheep Gupta, while delivering the lecture on Consumer Rights Awareness highlighted the various issues faced by consumers and the liability of the manufacturer and suppliers of goods and services.

He also highlighted remedies available under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and their enforcement mechanism.

The session was interactive in nature.

The lecture series was attended by LLB 2nd, 4th and 6th semester students along with faculty members of the department of law.
