Marathon Race organised in Kathua to promote anti-drug campaign

KATHUA: As per the initiatives of Guidance and Counseling Cell of Directorate of School Education Jammu, a Marathon Race was organised in all Districts of Jammu Division under Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan based on the theme "say no to drugs".

District Counseling Cell Kathua, in collaboration with DRG, also organised a marathon race which witnessed participation of around 300 students of different schools.

The race was flagged off by Chief Education Officer, P.L Thapa from Government HSS (B) Kathua which en-route through Shaheedi Chowk, Ambedkar Bridge, Jarai Chowk, Mukherjee Chowk, Nagri Adda and Culminated back in Govt. HSS (B) Kathua.

Three check points were marked respectively at Shaheedi Chowk, ITI Chowk and G&B Hostel Chowk where the officials from the Education Department were issued tokens to the participating students during Race.

In Boys Category, Government HSS Jakhbar bagged two positions. Kishore Kumar of GHSS Jakhbar stood first and Anil Kumar of GHSS Jakhbar stood third, whereas second position was bagged by GHSS Nagri Parole. In Girls Category, Government HSS(G) Kathua bagged first two positions and third position went to RSJN HSS Kathua.

CEO Kathua congratulated the winners and all faculty counselors for their tireless efforts for organising such a historic event. He appreciated the role of District Counseling Cell headed by DCC Hardeep Singh, DRG Paawan Vivek, ZCC Satyadeep Sharma. Principal HSS Nagri Parole Jatinder Sethi also spoke on the occasion.

Sanjeev Vaid Principal HSS (B) Kathua, Satish Chandel Sr. Lecturer HSS Jakhbar, Sohan Lal Sr. Lecturer Ravinder Singh Sr. Lecturer, Inder Lal Sr. Lecturer, Surinder Kumar Lecturer and other teachers/Masters/ Lecturers from different schools were also present on the occasion.
