DLSA Reasi hosts awareness camp on POSCO in GHS Bhaga

REASI: As per the Action Plan/Calendar for the month of September, 2022, issued by the J&K Legal Services Authority and also under the able guidance and supervision of R.N.Watal, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Reasi, Secretary District Legal Services Authority, Reasi today organised an awareness program on NALSA (Victim of Trafficking and Commercial Sexual Exploitation) Scheme, 2015 and on Protection of Children against Sexual Offences Act 2012 (POCSO), Act for the students of Government High School (Bhaga) Reasi.

Advocate Rashi Baru and Gypsy Badyal, Member Child Welfare Committee, Reasi were the resource persons in the program.

The resource persons threw light on the provisions of The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 along with its Amendments and also the concept of ‘Good Touch and Bad Touch' in a simple and dignified manner. The Child Helpline No: 1098 was also shared with the participants in the program.

Rekha Kapoor Nischal, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Reasi also spoke on the occasion and had an interactive session with the school students. They were asked to spread mass awareness about the POCSO ACT in their neighbourhoods. The program was attended by the Faculty members and students of Government High School Bhaga, Reasi.

The objective of organizing this awareness camp was to spread awareness about the issues related to Sexual Exploitation of the children.
