Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan: Recipe Fair cum Competition held at Poshan Project Hiranagar

KATHUA: To promote the objective behind 5th Rashtriya Poshan Maah, Poshan Project Hiranagar organised an awareness programme under the aegis of Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan here today.

District Program Officer, ICDS Kathua Joginder Singh Jasrotia was the Chief Guest of the occasion.

The fifth Rashtriya Poshan Maah is being observed this year on major themes of Mahila Aur Swasthya and Baccha aur Shiksha.

Poshan Abhiyan underlies the importance of eradicating malnutrition among children for a healthy and better future for children and country. Along with many aspects of early childhood care and education, healthy nutrition plays a significant role in maintaining good health of the children.

During the daylong event, Recipe Fair and competition was organised where Anganwadi workers of Poshan Project Hiranagar participated.

In total 78 recipes, both traditional and indigenous, were prepared by Anganwadi workers. Each recipe adheres to the parameters including suitability for children of 6 months to 6 years along with locally and easily available ingredients.

Speaking on the occasion, District Program Officer Kathua said that the pink force of Anganwadi workers are playing a key role in Poshan Abhiyan and Nasha Mukt Bharat. He further applauded field functionaries, while exhorting them to create absolute awareness about all schemes to people.

The program also witnessed a nukkad natak presented by Anganwadi workers, highlighting the social menace created by drug addiction and its social, financial physical and mental impact on people.

Master Trainer Surbhi Abrol and Jeevan Jyoti from District Social Welfare Office, Kathua also spoke on the menace of drug addiction, its identification and control in the society, while highlighting its legal and social impact.

The Program further projected women centric Social Schemes by representatives of Mahila Shakti Kendra, Kathua Shilpa Sharma.

The programme ended with a Yoga demonstration session by Medical Officer Ayush. He also highlighted the importance of Ayurveda and yoga for healthy life.

CDPO Barnoti, CDPO Hiranagar, Supervisors, Anganwadi workers and Helpers, Ward Councillor along with beneficiaries participated in the programme.
