GDC Ramgarh organises seminar on ‘Truth and Non-Violence

SAMBA: In continuation to the series of activities being organized to celebrate Gandhi Jayanti, Government Degree College Ramgarh, Department of Sociology and Department of Political Science on Saturday organised a Seminar on ‘Non-Violence as a Weapon in Freedom Struggle of India' and ‘Truth and Non-Violence'.

The event was organized under the guidance of the College Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Satinder Kaur,. She laid emphasis on the value of freedom through non-violence. She spoke on the role of Non-Violence in getting freedom through Satyagraha and disciplined life as of Mahatma Gandhi. She further said that the freedom of thought comes through a free mind and a clean life. Moreover, she advised all the gathering to adhere to the principles of Non-Violence and to follow the same doctrine in all fields of life which are a great tribute to Freedom fighters who have sacrificed their lives for our freedom.

The Convenors of the seminar were Dr. Aditi Khajuria and Prof. Seema Sharma. Dr Uma Prasher, Lecturer, Department of Sociology and Dr Varinder Kour, Lecturer, Department of Political Science organised the seminar. Dr Uma Prasher welcomed all and presented her views on Non-Violence as the weapon of freedom struggle in India.

All the faculty members along with the students of the College attended the Seminar.

Dr. Shamsher Lal, Dr Ekta Rani and Arpana were the jury members who gave points to the students on the basis of their performance.

The 1st Prize went to Jagmeet Kour, 2nd Prize to Vanshika, while Mansi Devi bagged 3rd position.

The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Varinder Kour. In the end the Principal congratulated the students and the faculty members for participating and organizing the event respectively.
