Plantation drive held at GCW Udhampur

UDHAMPUR: ECO Club of Government College for Women Udhampur in collaboration with Karam karte chalo welfare society organised plantation drive on the College Campus.

The plant saplings of Khejri tree (Prosopis Cineria ), locally known as "Shami" were planted by the District Information Officer, Udhampur Rajinder Kumar Digra along with staff , students, members of ECO club and chairman Karam Karte Chalo welfare society, Vikas Kumar.

The Principal of the college Prof. Monika Sharma laid emphasis on promotion of eco sensitivity and green practices among students. She applauded the efforts of the ECO Club and karam kare chalo society for coming forward for plantation .

The event was graced by the presence of Principal GCW Prof.(Dr.)Monika Sharma, Dr. Kewal Kumar (HOD Chemistry),Ashni Devi (HOD Botany), Dr. Kewal Kumar (Botany dept.), Rajeev Singh(Convener Eco club), Tania Mahajan (Zoology Dept), Pooja Bharti (HOD Geography), Yash Kumar (Music Dept.), Members of Karam karte chalo society(Vikas Kumar and Mohit Singh)and students of the Ecoclub .
