GCET Jammu Celebrates Engineers Day With Great Fervor

JAMMU: Government College of Engineering and Technology, Jammu today celebrated Engineers Day under the patronage of Prof. (Dr). Sameru Sharma, Principal, GCET, Jammu.

Oral/poster presentation was made by the students on the theme, along with various performances. Team of Students including Shiloka Thusso and Nandita Sharma delivered the presentation on "Fake News Detection". The topic dealt with the negative impact of fake news circulated globally. The talk was quite interesting and educational for the students and faculty members.

On the occasion, one of the coordinators of the event Er. Sumeer Khajuria of GCET, Jammu gave a presentation on the life of Sir M. Visvesvaraya. Dr. Ajay Abrol, I/c T&P Cell, GCET, Jammu spoke on learning and practicing of ethical and professional values emanated from the life of a great engineer.

Further, Er. Harinder Dingra, also shared her experience and emphasis on true engineering and work for positive and good change in society. Additionally, Er. Neeraj Dubey, of the Computer Science Deptt, encouraged students to focus on studies and encouraged them to solve daily life problems in innovative ways as they have a vital role in nation building.

Further, Dr. Vibha Mahajan, Member, T&P cell, GCET, Jammu also highlighted the importance of Engineering in the current scenario and urged the students to learn skills required for the future industries.

At the end, Prof. Sameru Sharma, Principal GCET, Jammu emphasized the need to celebrate these significant days to feel proud of our engineers' accomplishments in all areas of science and technology, as well as to acknowledge their contributions.
