PSPS Govt PG College for Women organises extension lecture on 'Archaeology: Basic Ideas '

JAMMU: Department of History, Padma Shree Padma Sachdev Government PG College for Women on Monday organised an extension lecture on development of Archaeology and its basic Ideas.

The event was organised under the patronage of the College Principal, Prof. Minu Mahajan.

The resource person for the occasion was Dr. Navjot Kour, Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Catalan Institute of Classical Archaeology, Tarragona, Spain.

In her lecture, she elaborated upon the basic principle of Archaeology as well as different processes involved in the archaeological excavation.

Several interesting facts related to the Jammu archaeological development were shared with the students and the teaching faculty present on the occasion and made them acquainted with the future prospects of archaeology in the Jammu and Kashmir region.

Students and teachers participated enthusiastically who posed numerous queries to Dr. Navjot.

The welcome address was presented by Prof. Abhinav Sharma and the lecture ended with the formal vote of thanks presented by Prof. Puja Parihar.
