ICC Test Rankings: Virat Kohli rises two spots to No. 7 in batting charts, Jasprit Bumrah back in top 10

NEW DELHI: India's former Test captain climbed to the No. 7 spot in the ICC Test Batting Rankings, updated on Wednesday, January 19. Kohli moved up 2 spots on the batting charts after having a good run in the recently-concluded Test series against South Africa in South Africa.
Virat Kohli hit 79 and 29 in challenging conditions in the 3rd Test that India lost in Cape Town. Kohli's valiant batting effort ended in vain as India lost the 3rd Test by 7 wickets and the 3-match series 2-1. Kohli quit as India's Test captain a day after the 3rd Test in Cape Town.
Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma, who missed the Test series due to a hamstring injury, retained his 5th spot as the star opener and Kohli remain the only two Indian batters in the top 10 of ICC Test Batting Rankings.
Marnus Labuschagne continues to retain the No. 1 spot in the ICC Batting Rankings, followed by Joe Root, Steve Smith and Kane Williamson.
JASPRIT BUMRAH RETURNS TO TOP 10
On the other hand, fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah returned to the top 10 of ICC Bowling Rankings, rising three spots to No. 10. Bumrah, who was India's vice-captain in the 2nd Test in Johannesburg, finished the 3-Test series with 12 wickets, 2 behind his pace-bowling partner Mohammed Shami.
Kagiso Rabada, who stole the show in the 3-Test series with 20 wickets, gained two spots to No. 3 in the bowling rankings that is led by Australia's Ashes-winning Test captain Pat Cummins.
India's R Ashwin remains in the 2nd spot in the bowling rankings while New Zealand's Kyle Jamieson and Pakistan's Shaheen Afridi complete the top 5.Live TV
