Innovation Ideation Startup Program begins at JU

JAMMU: University of Jammu Special Purpose Vehicle Foundation (UOJSPVF) started the First Batch of Innovation Ideation 8 Week Start Up Program.
The inauguration of this program was done by the Hon'ble Vice Chancellor of University of Jammu Prof. Manoj Kumar Dhar.
Also Prof. Parikshat Singh Manhas Director & CEO of University of Jammu Special Purpose Vehicle Foundation was present on the occasion
Prof. Manoj Kumar Dhar, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu the Chief Guest on the Occasion said that students are the future of the nation. He inspired the participants to take the risk for their future growth and encourage them to define their goals with a clear vision in their life.
He motivated the students to develop a personal career plan and discover what's next in the career and challenges in the global era. He said that we have to start the business with a vision having a unique idea, as it is the need of the hour. He motivated the students by sharing various success stories of entrepreneurs.
Earlier Professor Parikshat Singh Manhas, Director & CEO, University of Jammu Special Purpose Vehicle Foundation delivered a welcome address and stated that this program aimed at providing the pathways to the participants to start their own business.
He elaborated the basic aim of such programs and discussed the vision of UOJSPVF. Prof. Manhas gave examples of successful entrepreneurs who had started in a humble way and now are successfully running their business not only at national but at global level.
He elaborated that this is the first step of training and after this successful participants of this program would be train ed by various national and globally acclaimed experts too. He encouraged the students to be Job Creators rather than being Job Seekers.
He explained that this Program is a free program being organized with an aim to help entrepreneurs get their ideas and venture out to the next level through structured learning.
The program would cover lessons on key areas of starting up an entity through its extensive course material and assignments. He further elaborated that the students are expected to submit a detailed business plan at the end of the program and work upon it to create a successful business.
Chartered Accountant (CA) Sahil Malhotra and CA Akhileshwar Salathia were the resource persons on the occasion. They explained the various benefits of entrepreneurship and startups and elaborated on how they can provide employment opportunities to youngsters.
The resource persons provided an insight on the Government's Vision on launching the Start-up India program. They explained the 19 point Action Plan Laid Down by the Government of India. Also various intricacies of the Start Up's were explained to the students.
The first batch of students include 16 students from various colleges and universities, including Udhampur campus of University of Jammu, Main Campus of University of Jammu, Lovely Professional University and GCW parade.
Mamta Sharma Lecturer in Commerce, Udhampur Campus, University of Jammu, and Vatsalya Jyoti coordinated the session.
