J&K TT Meet: Ritvik, Iknoor lift singles titles; Mishti emerges victorious in Sub-Junior Girls event

JAMMU: Ritvik Gupta trounced Asad Sharma by 3-1 in the finals of the men's singles, while Iknoor Kour emerged winner in women's final defeating Ragini Gupta by 3 games to nil and Mishti Aggarwal lifted the title of sub-junior girls defeating Ragini Gupta by 3-1.

Earlier in the men's semi-finals Ritvik Gupta held his nerve against Jayesh Singh and finally went on to win by 3-0. In the other semi-finals match, Asad Sharma defeated Manandeep by 3-0.

Chandan Kohli, SSP Jammu was the chief guest, who witnessed the final match and distributed the prizes amongst the winners. The chief guest also congratulated the organisers for a successful tournament during these challenging pandemic times and hailed the sportsman spirit and the efforts put in by the participants.

Mohita Sharma, SP North was the guest of honour of the event, while Rajeev Sharma, president Hockey J&K was the special guest. Speaking at the event, Mohita Sharma made a special announcement that the Jammu District Police Department will hold a UT level Table Tennis tournament in the month of November for which she encouraged the players to participate and make the tournament a grand success.

Hops under- 11boys final, Prajwal beat Pranit Mahajan (Jammu) by 3-0, while in cadet boys final, Ritvik got better of Gurasses by 3-0 and in cadet girls final, Nitya Arora defeated Tuheen by 3-0 besides, in sub-junior boys final, Ritvik Gupta trounced Arya Gupta by 3-1, whereas in sub-junior girls final, Mishti Aggarwal beat Ragini Gupta by 3-1 and in junior boys under-17 final, Ritvik Gupta got better of Akhilesh Khajuria by 3-1.

In junior girls under-17 final, Iknoor Kour trounced Vanshika by 3-0, in junior under- 19 boys final, Maanay Mansotra beat Sourav Sharma by 3-1 and in men's final, Ritvik Gupta beat Asad Sharma by 3-1 and in women's final, Iknoor Kour defeated Ragini Gupta by 3-0, besides in veteran men's final, IP Singh trounced Amit by 3-2.
